Supported identity documents

  • Côte d’Ivoire: biometric national ID card (CNI), passport, driving licence, residence card, CNAM (CMU) health card and proof of address.
  • Senegal, Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea, Togo, Benin, Niger and Ghana: national ID card and passport.
  • Any country: passports and documents with an ICAO 9303 machine-readable zone (MRZ), whatever the issuing country.

The checks run on every file

  • AI field extraction and MRZ reading, with the visual zone cross-checked against the MRZ.
  • MRZ check digits and the document number format, where the country allows it.
  • Face match between the selfie (or the video) and the document photo.
  • Liveness: challenge-response in the browser with nothing to install, or video from the mobile app.
  • Reading the electronic chip (NFC) of Ivorian passports and residence cards from the mobile app: the chip photo is used for the face match.
  • Detection of tampering, recompression and documents seen before.
  • Sanctions screening (UN, OFAC, European Union, United Kingdom) and politically exposed persons.

Your analyst makes the decision

Every file arrives with a risk score and the reasoning behind it: which check passed, which failed and why. The analyst approves, rejects or asks for more.

Every access and every decision is written to a hash-chained audit trail that your auditors and the authorities can read back.

In the browser, in your app or by API

Customers can verify from their phone’s browser. A mobile SDK adds auto-capture, NFC chip reading and video liveness. An API plugs Verita into your existing account-opening journey.

Frequently asked questions

Does Verita read the Ivorian national ID card?

Yes. The Ivorian biometric CNI is supported, with its number format checked. The passport, driving licence, residence card and CNAM card are supported too.

Does the customer have to install an app?

No. Verification works in the phone’s browser. The mobile app is offered to institutions that want NFC chip reading and video liveness.

How long does a verification take?
